Lebanon County Amateur Radio Emergency Service (LCARES)
ARRL Simulated Emergency Test drill occurred during the weekend of Oct 7 & 8. We participated (Saturday, Oct 7) with a scenario and callout, followed by a fall picnic at the Cabin at the South tower site.
LCARES participated in the drill "Exercise Wide Vigilance" conducted by the South Central Regional Counter Terrorism Task Force which involved 16 area hospitals and 8 County EMAs on Oct. 14th. Our radio operators handled traffic from the Lebanon GSH to the County EMA and to surrounding counties EMAs.
The Lebanon Good Samaritan Hospital has included LCARES in its emergency preparedness plans by inviting us to install a permanent station at their facility. In this way we can help with their communications when normal lines are overloaded or out of service.
